Rosa Lavergne, has a PhD- from New York University in Applied Psychology and an M.A. in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), who has over 25 years of experience working with individuals struggling with their career decisions, mental health, substance abuse, and other life challenges. Dr. Lavergne has worked as an adjunct professor at NYU (New York University), Columbia University, Montclair State University, and Ramapo College for the past fifteen years. She has made significant contributions to the Counseling profession; among them is her expertise in developing and implementing culturally sensitive, client-centered vocational/mental health services for youth and adults. She has worked as a researcher at Columbia University’s Sergievsky Research Center, on a large community-based research project for Latinos.
Dr. Lavergne has 10 years of experience as a bi-lingual (Spanish) Vocational Counselor for New York State developing vocational/ employment plans with a diverse disabled population in New York City. She has a strong community-based background, having worked extensively in the Harlem and Washington Heights community. More recently, Dr. Lavergne has been conducting behavioral assessments for at risk children in the state of N.J. and working with young people on exploring their interests, dreams/aspirations, and developing a career plan.
